FRIDA KAHLO AND THE
BRAVEST GIRL IN THE WORLD
LYRIC OPERA OF CHICAGO
Part of Lyric Unlimited's Opera in the Neighborhoods program, this "Spanglish" opera for young people centers on the true story of Mariana Morillo Safa. Young Mariana is nervous to have her portrait painted by the famous Frida Kahlo. But with some help from Frida, Diego Rivera, and their pets, she learns to be the bravest girl in the world.
Lyric's Opera in the Neighborhoods brings live performances of youth-focused operas to neighborhood venues throughout the Chicago area and is free to schools.
