A retelling of the classic European folktale, this opera for young audiences transported students to Blessing, Texas in 1933, where a hungry orphan named Sally enlists the help of a whole community to make a meal that will nourish everyone. This production toured all over the capital region of New York, bringing opera to thousands of students and educators.
